I ask you to consider that our Lord Jesus Christ is your true head and that you are a member of His body. He belongs to you as the head belongs to the body. All that is His is yours: breath, heart, body, soul and all His faculties. All of these you must use as if they belonged to you, so that in serving Him you may give Him praise, love and glory. You belong to Him as a member belongs to the head. This is why He earnestly desires you to serve and glorify the Father by using all your faculties as if they were His. He belongs to you, but more than that, He longs to be in you, living and ruling in you, as the head lives and rules in the body. He desires that whatever is in Him may live and rule in you: His breath in your breath, His heart in your heart, all the faculties of His soul in the faculties of your soul, so that these words may be fulfilled in you: Glorify God and bear him in your body, that the life of Jesus may be made manifest in you.

You belong to the Son of God, but more than that, you ought to be in Him as the members are in the head. All that is in you must be incorporated into Him. You must receive life from Him and be ruled by Him. There will be no true life for you except in Him, for He is the one source of true life. Apart from Him you will find only death and destruction. Let Him be the only source of your movements, of the actions and the strength of your life. He must be both the source and the purpose of your life, so that you may fulfill these words: None of us lives as his own master and none of us dies as his own master. While we live, we are responsible to the Lord, and when we die, we die as His servants. Both in life and death we are the Lord’s. That is why Christ died and came to life again, that He might be Lord of both the dead and the living.

Finally, you are one with Jesus as the body is one with the head. You must, then, have one breath with Him, one soul, one life, one will, one mind, one heart. And He must be your breath, heart, love, life, your all. These great gifts in the follower of Christ originate from baptism. They are increased and strengthened through confirmation and by making good use of other graces that are given by God. Through the Holy Eucharist they are brought to perfection.

Nvidia (NVDA: Nasdaq)

What was once a gaming chip company has morphed into the top producer of chips powering the AI boom. A $2 trillion plus company, it is GROUND ZERO for the current AI boom. Earnings this week showed $26 billion in quarterly sales, up 3 x from a year ago. They announced a 10 for 1 stock split. The stock reached $1000 a share this week. It closed on Friday, 5/24/24 at $1064.79, up $26.70, a 2.57% gain for the day. The stock has more than doubled this year. 

Vertiv Holdings (VRT: NYSE)

New orders up 60% year over year. The company powers and cools data centers. It closed on Friday, 5/24/24 at $106.67, up $4.93, a 4.87% gain for the day. The stock has more than doubled this year. 

Eaton (EAT: NYSE)

It closed on Friday, 5/24/24 at $340.89, up $2.47, a 0.73% gain for the day. The stock is up 47% this year. It is a power management company, doing all things to keep Data Centers up and running, and safe! 

Johnson Controls (JCI: NYSE)

It closed on Friday, 5/24/24 at $73.90, up $0.64, a 0.87% gain for the day. It is up 28% this year. It designs, sells, and installs everything a Data Center needs – heating, a/c, refrigeration, electronic security, fore detection and suppression systems. 

Quanta Services (PWR: NYSE)

It closed on Friday, 5/24/24 at $283.43, up $6.88, a 2.49% gain for the day. It is up 31% this year.

The S&P has advanced 11% this year.

Hoka

I bought a pair of white-on-white Hoka Clifton 9 sneakers from Nordstrom. I have been reading about runners buying running shoes with extra cushioning that increases their speed. Some only last a race or two. 

There is a brand-new running shoe just released called Skyward X. They indicate it is almost illegal because of its competitive advantages. 

I wear my Hoka Clifton 9 sneakers everyday. I do a lot of walking. They are the lightest and most comfortable shoes I have ever worn. Plus – the shoelaces do not come untied. I washed them. I had to wear something. I put on what I used to wear, and used to think they were the most comfortable. I had to take them off and wear something else. 

There is something to be said about wearing premium shoes. 

I am late to the game. Hoka has been around for ten years, mainly for runners. People started wearing them everyday about two years, and it took off. 

The company is owned by Deckers Outdoor Corp. It is publicly traded. Its symbol is DECK and trades on the NYSE. The stock closed Friday at $1032.09 per share, up $128.25 per share, a 14.18% gain. The stock is up 53.25% year-to-date.  They reported a blow-out quarter. 

They are also the makers of UGG.

Capital One Shopping

Capital One Shopping. 

Did you know Capital One has a shopping site that helps you get discounts on just about anything you buy? Many of you already have it. It was an outgrowth of a Tech incubator they created years ago. Capital One is ahead with technology. 

You can access information about it here and here. 

It is installed on your browser. It has a browser extension. The two articles will walk you through it and there, you can access the link to download and install it. 

They used to offer a referral bonus, but no longer. 

Some of the many retail stores: Macy’s, Bloomingdales, J Crew, Brooks Brothers, Alo, Staples, Todd Snyder, Buck Mason, Gap, Land’s End, Banana Republic, Banana Republic Factory, Charles Tyrwhitt, Lululemon, Old Navy, Brooks Running, Hoka, The Container Store, Wayfair, Casper, Lowe’s. 

Once installed, the extension on your browser will automatically highlight what the store is giving. It might be 2% to 3%, sometimes more. They also run discount codes and generally find discounts you were not aware of. So many times, I was not aware something was marked down or on sale. Capital One Shopping does this for you. The savings are substantial. It adds up. It is free money. You can redeem your credits for gift cards. 

You can receive emails. They will go through shopping bags and offer you even a bigger discount. 12%, 15, 18%, 22.5% are not out of the realm of possibilities. There is a portal on the site, that shows yu what you purchased and the discount you receive. It generally takes about a month to credit. If you wish not to receive e-mails, you can go onto the main page, and it will have listed practically everything in your shopping bags with the bigger discounts. 

You can also call it this a “hack.” 

2% vs 12% for the same item? I’ll take the 12% anytime. Found money.
